Can you spot the difference between a ladybug (Americas), ladybird (Europe) and a ladybeetle (Asia)? You can tell the difference based on their physical appearance. Asian lady beetle has a white M-shaped marking at the back of its head where it meets their wings. The others do not!

All of this 'ladies' are beetles despite the name. Although they are most often depicted as red colored they can include shades of tan, orange, and yellow.

Even the spots can change among the ladies. Such as seven-spotted ladybug, nine-spotted ladybug and twelve-spotted ladybug. Some may not have any spots at all! The twelve-spotted ladybug or lady beetle can sometimes have pink spots instead of black.
